About University
Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University formerly known as Lvov State Medical Institute, earlier known as Faculty of Medicine of the John Casimir and before that Faculty of Medicine of the Francis I University. Lviv National Medical University is one of the oldest and biggest medical university in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
The Medical Faculty dates back to 16 November 1784 which make LNMU oldest university in entire Ukraine. LNMU Celebrated its 225 anniversary in the year 2009.
From 1961 Lviv National Medical University is training International Students in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy. During these years more than 2,500 Doctors are Pharmacists graduated from Lviv National Medical University and successfully working in many countries.
From 1997 university introduced Medicine in the English language for International Student before that student used to study in Russian & Ukraine Language. At Present 70% of the total students are enrolled in English programs only and the university is rapidly growing in terms of International Students.

As Lviv National Medical University is one of the Oldest and Biggest Medical University in Ukraine so it stands in Top 3 Medical University in Ukraine.
As the university has developed rapidly and contributed in the Field of Medicine and Pharmacy University was granted National Level status on 21st August 2003 by the decree of President of Ukraine.
Faculty And Training Staff :
At Present 1211 scientists are working in the 78 departments of Lviv National Medical University at the Institute of Clinical Pathology, Institute of Intoxicology and Central Research Laboratory out of which 134 of Doctor of Science, and more 620 Ph.D. Holders including 113 full-time professors 369 associate professors 50 senior teachers 662 assistant professors and 17 researchers.
International Students:
Lviv National Medical University is a hub of International Students and it is the first choice for Indian students who opt for MBBS in Ukraine. Around 1200 International students are studying Medicine at Lviv National Medical University among them are 550 Indian students.
Students are provided by 4 Government Hostel in which international students are living at present. University campus is free of corruption and student are happily studying Medicine at Lviv National Medical University.
